"HOW DO YOU GET UP FROM
BEING HURT BY LOVE?"
So many people ask me that
ministerially. I also moderate a
men's relationship group at
POCC, which I have done since
June 2003, and much of what
couples discuss is rooted not in
their present love, but their
past stuff.
The reason we don't like to deal
with our own past honestly is
that, at some point, we all have
to deal with the fact that the
relationship that we were in,
we CHOSE to be in, and which
would you rather question --
HIS SANITY OR YOURS?
The work of getting up from old
relationships includes the very
honest
first step of acknowledging, fully and
truthfully, what it was
in the first place.
Some of us were truly in wonderful
relationships
with people who used
their freewill to change their mind,
and your life. Choices are what
make us human...we get to decide.
Sometimes it was decided for us and
we come home and find stuff gone
or someone sleeping in your bed, so
trust me, I overstand the pain.
But then comes the examination of
the heart. How much could this
person have really loved you if the
way they showed you was to
betray
your trust or cheat on you or steal
from you or worst of all, break your
heart?
The recovery room for love really
isn't that crowded because so
many
people believe that what they HAD
is all they will get.

what you think.
